*What is a CKD/CBD
CKD/CBD: (Certified Kitchen and Bathroom Designer) is an internationally recognised accreditation for: “…special qualifications and having demonstrated knowledge and ability in the planning, design and supervision of complete kitchens and bathrooms…” The highest level of qualification in the industry.
A CKD/CBD is a professional, qualified by education and experience to design, plan and specify the installation of residential style kitchens and bathrooms. Technical knowledge includes new construction, together with light interior remodeling, plumbing and electrical expertise. A CKD/CBD has up to date knowledge of construction and use of cabinetry, accessories, bench tops, appliances, bathware, flooring, trades work and all other components relevant to kitchen and bathroom design.
This combination and specialisation of education in fundamental design, design analysis, space planning, colour co-ordination and the technical knowledge resulting from actual ‘on the job’ experience has developed a unique awareness in the Certified Designer towards both the client and the clients investment in the project.
Certified Designers are required to carry out a program of Continuous Professional Development training (CPD) in order to receive an annual Certificate of Currency.
